Yeah, turns out computers are "fast" [citation needed]. Even a "slow" computer like a RasPi or a phone is unimaginably fast in some stuff compared to a human. ....and yet so dumb.
The trick is just to know how the code behind looks, that's all.
 
Indeed, you might find yourself wondering why noone seems to be able to view your posts, or why the site always seems to crash each time you have written a long reply...

They're super light weight ajax calls, even one of my pathetic raspberry pi servers can handle hundreds of them a second... a few thousands over the course of 5 minutes is nothing in the terms of a couple of very minor database queries.
If the javascript call is lightweight or not, depends on the code that is executed because of the call, not the javascript code in itself.

A side note, we do not appreciate anyone utilizing any code to spider or automatically process actions. If this becomes an issue, we will need to awake from our slumber and take action.
 
I was referring to the back end script that would be lightweight. I've already said I wouldn't be doing it again.
