Blog Sleepy corner

I figured out how to hold my vehicles during painting. Normaly I drill two small holes to bottom of model and glue bent wire in them. After painting is done, I pry them off with pliers (because I am too stupid to use debonder that is sitting in next room :D ).
3D prints, I mostly hollow out to save resin and relieve supports, so I can't really drill into that.

Behold my solution:
I glue small nut into tank and after glue sets, I can screw that onto bolt on my holder.

Nut then stays in forever. :D

That's a very clever solution.

While ago, kiddo asked for Ankylosaur model to paint. After I brought it home, better half melted on how cute the model is and asked me to get one printed for her as well. She sat down and after one throwaway mini to get used to speedpaints, she painted it.

This is a family thread now, since whole gang has model pictures here. :D

That's very cute. A great paint job.

She did two try-out minis, roughly 11 years ago.
Impressive. She's very talented being able to paint so well with such little experience.

I went to friend for fresh batch of prints.
Small collection of Modiphius HARDWAR. Few terrain features and two forces. For start, I chose Chinesse Democracy Army Detachment and Razorbach Striker Unit.

Razorbachs came with some minor print issues, so no picture yet.

After playing some games with kiddo, he loves small tanks and mechs. I promised him that I'll be playing HARDWAR with him, I'll just streamline rules a bit.

On plus side, terrain looks properly sized for Epic Warpath as well... also, I bought some Mundus Imperialis prepainted terrain to use for Epic Warpath, so I can choose to fight in city or on farmland.

Modelers club today. Bolt action ruins are primed and currently de-smelling outside of home. I also painted unit of Stage 3Z - Zombies, this time finally with some flocking on bases:

And while I was flocking bases, rust dried on artillery that I was painting on&off last couple of days:

I found my Forge Fathers! :D
Somehow they ended up buried in workshop part of flat. Probably when I was modifying my tool rack and needed to get it out, so I moved plenty of boxes around. Anyways, I started assembling some infantry onto bases.
I also modified second artillery unit. These will have some of sharp blades replaced by rusty rebars.

They are all looking great!
Good progress on the vehicles.

Grrr, !mrahil

After yesterday modeling until midnight, I wasn't really excited to get up at 6, so kiddo can watch cartoons. :D
No coffee, so I don't wake up better half, I was kinda dizzy, so I didn't paint, just glued basing onto Forge Fathers. Faction is now assembled and based. I have couple of units prepared for printing for more diversity. :)

Few days ago I noticed half broken stiffener plate that we used in kiddo's old baby bed. I carefully measured it and managed to salvage 2x2' board from it. Then I took some dollar store paints and voila. :)

We have something to play really small games of epic scale on. :)
That's epic. A great way to reuse something broken!

I also found hidden behind a wardrobe, old 3x3' board I made 11 years ago. All dark brown, with drybrush and extremely glossy finish. With hundreds of white (plaster as terrain medium) craters after little stones fallen off from it. I would like to scrape everything from it and make it new, but I don't know if I ever find enough willpower. :D

News!
Couple days ago, I decided not to pollute my personal FB profile with pictures of miniatures and started page. Basic premise will be that same stuff I post here will be there too, maybe less WIP stuff

JT´s Sleepy Corner

Today, I was searching for something to get printed on coffee mug that I want to bring to modeler´s club and after 2 hours, I decided that I´ll try out that AI image generation that is everywhere. Long story short, mug is ordered and I have temporary profile picture for my page as well. :D

Last 6 days of unemployment! That is right, I have a job :D
I will not be able to paint there, but at least I'll not be sitting at home, biting my nails and worrying about my future.
With monthly goals almost done, I celebrated a little and put HARDWAR (at least what I have now) on bases.
