8th Ed. Slann TG and close combat

Going to be using 20 TG with my Slaan in a tournament next week, but I am nervous about having my Slaan in close combat as I use my TG to rip the $4!t out of my opponents. Anyone have advice?

There shouldn't be any problem with fielding the slaan in a TG bunker. As per the rules, the Slaan is in the 2nd rank and cannot be touched from the front so if he is placed with TG on either side as well he is immune to close combat attacks since no one can touch him (until the TG all die, of course!). Below is a diagram of a 20 TG unit with a slaan that illustrates how this works:

T= Temple Guard, S= Slaan (Slaan occupies 4 spaces due to base size but still counts as infantry and gets look out, sir roll from template attacks).

Also, the TG actually end up being S5 since they have halberds - they are not allowed to go h/w & shield.

As long as I have throne up and keep them stoned (toughness 8) lol, they should be next to unkillable. I am taking this block on my tournament list for 1600 next Saturday.
When I am in the thick I can take advantage of Belcalming Cogitation as well. I am looking to shut down Skaven. I figure as long as I can deal with them I should be fine for everything else.
