I was looking at the skink star seers rules as I love it's model (and skinks in general)

I found this weird thing with the wording:
If you use curse of fates spell on yourself surely you can always get 6 re rolls?

Pictures:

Notice how cosmic herald just says "in your hero phase" so surely you could target yourself with curse of fates, choose a six when picking your dice for cosmic herald and +1 to it to make sure you always get 7 rerolls. I know it says YOU place a dice but it also says it's the star seers that's doing it.

It clearly states dice roll in curse of fates so I would say no, if you could then it makes the starseer way over powered

You are not a unit, and so you are not a valid target for curse of fate. ;)

The starseer is a valid target for curse of fates, but...
It would work only if it was a roll off. Curse of fates specifically says dice roll. Cosmic herald says place a dice. No rolling, no plus one. But great thinking outside the box. Had me excited for a minute!

Thanks for the clarification! Not sure if I will take the starseer now as it seems like a bit of a gamble, and his spell is not worth 60 points over the star priests (IMO)

Star seer is ridiculously powerful. Those rerolls really really help. I asked this before and the consensus was that it works, though people house rule it a lot, is that the re roll can be used on the initiative roll between turns.

I have used the starseer in a couple of games now and have never lost the reroll mini game. I love that model!

Yes you can use it for the turn roll, i tend to try and save two rerolls for it, one for me and one for my opponent

You can even force rerolls to your opponent. it's incredibly useful.

I didn't even think about what LordRibbit had mentioned. He's crazy. Definitely the next model I paint up!

Also use it on your opponents battleshock tests, this combined with the carnos bloodroar will have entire units running for the table edge
