AoS Skink Priest vs Starpriest

Well remember, if the formation says "requires a Skink Priest" then the Starpriest can still be used because it has both the Skink and Priest keywords, making it a Skink Priest. It's the same way you can use a mounted Oldblood for the basic Saurus battalion, or named characters in battalions.
Ah clarification on the battalion whether or not to use the key word or the model stated.
This is what I assumed, but people I play with were waiting on clarification. I pointed them to the most important rule and said clear enough for you? Haha!

Would unanimous clarification from all the staff, including the manager, of one of the biggest Games Workshop stores in my country be sufficient clarification? Because that's the GW I play at and they all agree.

I keep saying let's go to the south side and get the staff at the GW store to give advice! Haha! Stubborn dwarf players!

Just to be the devils advocate (or in other words, your opponent) the skink patrol formation does say you need a skink priest, but the warscroll key words for our star priest doesn't have the two words together, it goes "... Skink, Hero, Priest..." so this could be a point that someone might hang on to and argue about. Then If you look at the actual Skink Priest, it goes "...Skink, Hero, Priest, Skink Priest..." and explicitly puts the two words together.

For the record, I'm completely in agreement that we should be able to use both to complete the formation.

All that being said, I still want that skink priest with cloak of feathers so that I can have line of sight of everything on the field for the Spring the Trap rule and keep him "safely" behind the lines.

To counter that, the same format lists the Seraphon summoners as Slann Wizards in the same way, and no Slann has "Slann Wizard" together like that either. So either we can't actually summon, or you don't need the keywords together.

Engine of the Gods would work.. Keywords: Skink, Priest, Skink Priest.
I would say no to the Skink Starseer (no priest keyword), and could also argue no to the Starpriest. As it doesn't have the "Skink Priest" keyword like the Skink Priest does and the Engine of the Gods also has.

I never noticed that, that's going to be my closing argument if it ever gets disputed, thanks!

Smart chap +1

well the Skink Patrol is now: Shadowstrike Starhost
needing:
1 Skink Starpriest or Skink Priest
2 units of Skinks or Chameleon Skinks in any combination
1 unit of Terradon Riders or Ripperdactyl Riders
