Skink Priest Mount

Ok so I'm still figuring out a ton of the intricacies of the game, but this is something I haven't figured out yet: Stegadons and Ancient Stegadons have 5 skinks on their howdah, and under the rules for that it says that a skink character may take up one of the 5. I know for like a Skink Priest I can purchase an Ancient Stegadon for a mount, or a Stegadon for the Skink Chief.

My question is that if I purchase a Stegadon in the Special category, can I put my skink character on it? Like begin the game on it? Or like jump on mid-game? Maybe I'm thinking too much into transports from 40k.

The Stegadon must be bought under the character's % allowance if it's a mount. Characters can't take mounts mid-battle and must start the battle on their chosen steed.

Basically, no to the above question!
