8th Ed. Skink Chief build.

Skink Chief, LA, Shield, VotFF, Dagger of Sotek, Trickster Shard: 109

Just trying to build a cheap but killy Hero to put in a Skinkrog unit.
 
If you mean the Arcane Item trickster shard, then you need a wizard level. On the other hand, you likely mean the Other Trickster Shard, which is useful.

Killy in general or killy for particular kind of units? The things you throw Skrox at may not be optimum for what he is built to kill, depending. I play against wood elves and orcs mostly, so what you have isn't bad for my uses, but may not for an all comers. I'll see what I can come up with for all comers thats different and get back to this.
 
yes "the other trickster shard" Im looking to build him from helping out the unit and to take on other heros in challenges.
 
venom of the fire fly is useless tbh, give him the 5 pts item for devastating carge, gives him an extra attack on charge :)

True the venom only works on mundane weapons and you have a magic one.
I've been thinking of a simillar assasin skink myself but i usually see him with ASF sword and potion of streinght.
 
Oh so no VotFF b/c im using a Magic weapon, thank you. Should i try to give him more armor or more hitting power?
 
Killing blow dagger, potion if strength and a cheap armor that would keep him alive?

I use A skink chief of Doom:)
It goes as follows:
Sword of Might Cloack of Feathers, and maye a charmed shield, and light armour. It stands for 104 or something points, and no warmachine can stand him:) (Iron blastes is an exeption:)
 
potion of strength, Cloack of Feathers and Enchanted sheild with LA= 107 or should i drop all amour and go wtih 2 hand weapons?
 
Funny thing i recently tried is terradon, shield, sword of anti heroes and gambler's armor.

And I was hoping you would discuss a potion of strength build to utilize javelins
 
Hillarious, the speculum mage stood no chance. Just make sure to have the frog close enough to provide LD since he'll loose trough static CR vs most units.

Sacrificial missile? For the same cost, can't you non-ethereal mage hunt with 3 terradons or chamos though?
 
Could, couldn't challenge tho and i get to use the awesome Tetto'eko model.

Sorry but that's not possible. Cloack, Potion and Enchanted Shield costs to much since Lizardmens Enchanted Shield 15p not 5p so sorry I myself hate that the Enchanted shield whent up in cost since the last armybok.

And if you have the cloak the ya might not whant him in a unit.

If you whant him to survive then I have on ocation been temted to test the following. the venom with the the armour of the silvered steel with a extra veapon for err like 109ish.

Or this one LA, Enchanted Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec, Potion of Foolhardiness and then seed of rebirth or dragonbane gem if ya whant a talisman atall, total 97, 102 or 107.
97 point killer skink is funny and that burning blade is imo the best 20p weapon Lizardmen can get it's hands on.
 
I did the Skink Chief (killing blow) on a terradon with a 3 terradon unit in my last game. Was totally useless.
To snipe a char you need to charge into the front of a unit which isn't how the terradons should be used. He ended up running around killing chaff which hes overpriced to do at 200 pts with unit.
 
yea it's usaly a pure ponit waste to place chiefs in terradon units and well they are god at warmachines ya say well NOT against the dwarfes. i have never seen a chief win a fight with one of those hero engineers.
 
I guess one advantage is the chief gives his fellow terradons LD8, a much safer roll when they panic after the first causaulty.
