8th Ed. skavenpelt banner??

hi all, im new to lizardmen and will be facing skaven tonight in a 1500 point game, im thinking of having a skink bsb and giving him the skavenpelt banner so his unit get hatred and frenzy. would thiss also give the kroxigors frenzy and hatred or just the skinks? the item says skink only but does that just mean only a skink can carry it or it only effects skinks??

A good question, and one I believe was never really resolved one way or the other. Really it seems to me that only skinks can take the banner, yeah, but then the whole unit of whatever they join is effected by it. Technically any banner can only be taken by a BSB yet they can still effect whatever unit they decide to join.

Since I'm pretty sure there is no proof one way or the other, you should discuss it with your opponent beforehand.
 
I am pretty positive that just refers to who can equip it versus who it affects. If it would not affect anyone other then skinks then it should be in the item description, not in the bold just underneath it that refers to who can equip it.
 
when you see the phrase (Skink only) or (slann only)
it just mans they are the only ones who can equip the item
not that the are the only ones who benefit from it.
 
forgive my lack of knowledge but im assuming a large unit of say 30 skinks with 3 kroxigors all with frenzy and hatred would be pretty nasty would it not. or would my opponent be able to use the frenzy to their advantage.

Not really anymore since an army can restrain a charge with a ld test. and it would be rerollable with that bsb in there.
 
am i right in thining that hatred allows rerolls to hit and frenzy is double attacks, meaning my krox would have 6 attacks each rerolling misses or have they changed the rules in 8th edition?

Frenzy is one extra attack, not double. Also the kroxes would still only get 3 attacks, thats the max supporting attacks you can get.

Hatred still rerolls misses in the first round of combat.
 
i see many thanks for the info, think i will go without it then, will take a saurus bsb just for the resilience. I will post my list on the correct forum if you guys would take a look and give me some feedback that would be great.

That and the fact that only the first rank gets the extra frenzy attack anyway.
