Can the flying unit in a shadowstrike make a move after being set up with the strike from the skies rule?

Yes it can.
All abilities preventing normal movement say so in their descriptions.
This one doesn't.

Yeah, for rippers you don't need it, but for terradons it may be definitely useful.

It really is. Six Terradons dropping their bombs can really ruin your opponent's day.
I have played that a few times.
Might also try it with nine one day.

that's just mean… I don't think anything really rivals a potential 27 mortal wounds anywhere on the board.

Though to be honest, terradons bombs seem to unreliable for it. Even 9 terradons will average a "mere" 9 mortal wounds, which for some reason feels very dissapointing.

Yeah but then they still have their shooting and melee attacks.
I once killed a Stardrake in one round with six terradons and a few regular Skinks. It was awesome.

True, they're decent enough to pull their weight, bombs or not. But their bombs could use a buff or two to be more reliable, possibly at the cost of a lower maximum potential. It's just kind of lame to have a once-per-game ability that's liable to completly fizzle.

QFT.
The way terradons' drop works, you cannot build a real tactic upon it, as it's too much unreliable.
