My initial impression after a quick glance at the models was pretty positive, but after studying them a bit more in detail I'm no longer as enthusiastic about them. I think I might just have been overwhelmed by the fact that these are actual brand new models for us.
The first thing that started to bug me upon closer inspection was the mouth of the Saurus model. I am not a fan of his teeth, and I'm not quite sold on the lips either.
Then there's the general anatomy on all of them. The muscles are so stiff, square, and layered into extremely defined sections, that to me they look more like some sort of exoskeleton. The legs on the Saurus and the hand holding the orb are probably the best examples of this. You could also try comparing the torso of the Saurus on the box art and the model. They look vastly different.
That said, the models themselves are pretty cool. I guess I'm just not a big fan of the sculptors style.
I'll probably grab a box or two when they're out, even though I don't even play Underworlds.
