Is the oldblood on carnosaur worth it?

Basically I'd like some opinions on this list. I participated in a club tournament last week and did surprisingly well considering that I've never played a full scale AoS fight before that (won 1/3 matches, placed 7/14), but I noticed my list had some flaws (it was saurus heavy, and while not terrible, they seemed kind of weak- shame, given how much effort I put into painting my 40+ spear sauruses).

My saurus guard performed amazingly well. Combined with their sworn guardian rule and the priest's blessing, they rarely took casualties, while dishing out plenty of hurt in return. The oldblood also kicked ass, particularly the carnosaur.

So my thought here is: 2 saurus guard units to make for a powerful centre. My carnosaur to be deployed on a flank, and the bastiladon to go on a flank or in the centre, depending on where he's the most useful. Skinks to run around harassing units and generally be annoying. The slann to keep my saurus guard even more useful. It's a fairly straightforward list, but I wonder if it isn't too expensive to field an oldblood on carnosaur AND a slann at once. Thoughts?

An Oldblood on Carno IS expensive, that's right.
But I think he may be worth it as a hard hitter that your opponent cannot ignore. So he is the hammer to the Guards' Anvil.

Alternatively you could play a second Basti, (but its damage is a bit unreliable), but what I would do is play probably Rippers or Terradons and a Shadowstrike to snipe enemies. That will work very well against some armies.

Your list is 1620 points a better 1500 list would be to lose the Slann,

At 1500 points I've had some good experience running the eternal starhost together with the shadowstrike starhost. If I remember correctly, that setup allows for an old blood on carno kicker :)

Yeah that would fit. One of our better lists I guess, using two of our strongest bataillons.
