AoS Selfless Protectors and Scaly Skin

Someone attack Slann who is protected by the Saurus Guard. Weapon make 2 damage per dice.
What is the correct order:
Option I: Selfless Prottectors - on 2+ dmg allocated on Saurus Guard, then Skaly Skin on Saurus Guard, so model get 1 dmg instead 2 dmg per dice.

Option II: No Skaly Skin, because attacked model is Slann, only we can use Selfless Protectors and Saurus Guard take 2 dmg per dice.

it's option 2 for a number of reasons.

First: the target of the attack is the Slann, not the guards. Wounds are redirected upon the guards because of an ability, but they are not the target. And for scaly skin to work, the target must have the saurus / monster keyword
Second: you don't redirect the attack... you redirect the single wounds, one at a time. If the Slann takes 6 dmg from a cannon, you roll 6 times the 2+ for selfless protector.
Third: it's considered a ward save, so it already applies to the effective wounds caused by the attack. it should be the Slann, the one with scaly skin.
