8th Ed. Scar Vetern BSB with Magical Banner- effect whole army?

Hey Guys,
I have a Scar Vetern with Battle Standard. What are the major differences between using him as my BSB, and a Slann?

If he has the battle standard, and a magical banner, does the magical banner effect my whole army?

Why do you think it would affect your whole army?

If the magical banner clearly states that it has somekind of area effect then it in theory could affect the whole army. But in the LM book or BRB there aren't any such banners. Otherwise only the scar-veteran carrying the banner and the unit he has joined benefit from the magical effect.

Also you need to remember that when running BSB on scar-veteran you can either choose him to have magical banner or other magical equipment. Unlike Slanns who can take both.

One more difference would also be that you can mount your Saurus on cold one and have more movement than Slann and making him more flexible. But other than that there isn't many cases when you should choose to make your scar-veteran a BSB over Slann.
