That would make for a refreshing change. The issue with infantry will always remain, no matter how good they are, they are always at the mercy of movement 4. If they are great in combat, opponents will avoid them. Still, I'm sure there are players who make great use of Saurus even as they currently are.
What we suffer from is a lack of core options.
I 100% agree. And honestly i think saurus can still fill that roll, they just need to have those options baked out in the form of weapons/armor/spawnings.
A spawning that increases movement to 5 or 6. A spawning that increases WS and I by 1. A spawning that adds stubborn. A spawning that ... lets them breath fire? who knows.
Weapon/armor options would be great weapons, "maiming" shield, halberds, light armor, heavy armor??, tail barbs (poisoned attacks?), mr1 item???
I'd drop them by a point or 2 and just appropriately (easier said than done) point all the options. The competitive scene would find the one ideal combo that is "most" efficient and everyone else will have oodles of awesome new options.
