hello all,I am sloppy. I am lazy. I have a laissez faire attitude in general.
That said, I want these warriors to look good so it’s time for action.
These fifty warriors are (black bases) from starter set, (white bases) partial box of warriors 1 (steg green bases), box of warriors 2 and I’ll probably get another box at some point for a larger sunclaw host.
The accompanying photos probably illustrate my inconsistency in painting models from different boxes spread over a long period. Scheme was; citadel black primed some, corax white spray some others. Then using citadel brushes stegadon scale green whole thing and sotek washed with coelia greenshade. My mate gave me a Windsor and newton brush which I really like using for details. Really, I’d like to strip them all and start again using the lizardmen citadel book, but I don’t have the will....
Anyways....
My plan to get these finished. (Will post pics as I progress through the following list)
1 Abbadon Black all the shafts, clubs heads. (Spear tips are all done)
2 Then retributor for the gold on weapons, bracelets and adornments (with reikland and dry brush of necron)
3 kindle flame dry brush on the shields (which were painted mephiston and shaded carroburg)
4 once all the above complete I’ll go and touch up the scales/skin to try and get a closer match as I tend to be messy with details.
5 then it’s finish off teeth and claws with rakarth seraphim sepia (some have been done)
6 *holds breath*...then do the eyes.....
7 base them in sand and do rims still legion drab.
After this is done, I might do the tips of spears like the one in the pic alongside banner. One of the guys in my local GW shop did this for me. It’s kantor blue mixed with a little white scar and edge highlighted then ardcoat. Quite like the effect and it’s pretty easy...so I have no excuse!
8 ok...I should do the spear tips as per the above...
After all this is done I will come and ask for help if I may, as I cannot seem to do straight thin lines on bodies for stripes...
It’s all a learning curve, and as long as the palette the same it’s actually quite cool to see a progression in quality of painting (I’ve painted a tonne of clan rats and it’s cool to see the newer ones near my first attempts).
Ps....you’ll maybe also notice my alpha guardian lurking in one of the pics. He was tester model for a box of guards...not touching them til I finish these...I promise.
