Could not have asked for a better conclusion to this amazing series.

True, an hour long finale would've been a blast but I'm not too greedy about it, especially since the revival season itself was more than some of my other favourite animated shows ever got when cancelled. The ending is bittersweet in some ways but It was also a very appropriate conclusion to the story. I'm very happy with where this season has taken the viewers and (to me at least) is an example of how to make a high quality revival for a show.
However, I'm a bit stunned at how people on other forums seem extremely critical and negative about it. We get a revival in the original TV format, it has most of the original cast and creators making it, and we get a conclusion to the show after nearly 12 years of speculation and all I seem to see elsewhere is a lot of moaning about why it had to be this way (aka. why the bittersweet element).![]()
It was an interesting twist. To be honest I didn't think they would end the show on that note. In the end if felt very poetic/artistic. They successfully created a very powerful emotional moment. The point of the show was never to have Jack have his cake and eat it too. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this, but it just seems like these other viewers are acing a bit spoiled, after already getting an amazing season.
I didn't think that the show was that popular. I only ever watched a couple of random episodes here and there. It sucks that they left you on a cliffhanger.I'm still waiting 16 years for Reboot to get a 5th Season to wrap up its cliffhanger ending, instead it looks like i'm getting a rebooted show with little of the original concept and characters remaining.

Hahaha... can you imagine? Everyone hounds Genndy for over a decade to finish Samurai Jack, and now that he does, we start hounding him for more!I will ask for no more at this point (but if you really want MORE, maybe petition Gendry for another graphic novel series, no episode restrictions that way)
Well I'm still waiting on animated series from the early 80's...![]()
I wouldn't hold my breath on those. I've never even heard of any of them..... I guess I should make a list:
Dragon Warrior (quest unfinished)
The Mysterious Cities of Gold (found like 3 of 7 cities)
Thundarr the Barbarian (never defeated main villain)
Pirates of Darkwater (found like 7 of 13 sacred treasures)
... probably some more I'm forgetting.
Storyline
When Ren, a young son of a lighthouse keeper, rescues a stranger foundering in the rocks near his home, he learns the man was an aide to his true father, a great king. Ren is given a magic compass crystal that guides him to a dragon who shows him that the only way to claim his heritage is to find the Thirteen Treasures of Rule. Unfortunately, a pirate ship captained by the evil Bloth is also aware of this treasure and is relentlessly pursuing Ren for it. On his side, Ren soon acquires companions like Ioz the Pirate, Tula the Eco-Mage and Nibbler the Monkey Bird who help him in his quest. That quest becomes all the more urgent when Ren learns that the Dark Water, a carnivorous form of water that consumes anything it snares, threatens to envelope and destroy his world and only the treasures he seeks can stop it.
Last thing I need is a series that I know is unfinished and will leave me hanging.I'm sure you could probably dig up a few episodes on you tube if you where curious.
Love that episode!
