Man, oh man.. too much talent bro !

Love how vibrant those colors are ! When you finish this army, you might as well consider joining armies on parade !

I would really love to join armies on Parade however! I live to far away to be able to compete! It would definatelly be a great motivator

Yeah I sometimes see a great lizard model on TGA, think "WOW who created this? Why is he not on Lustria?" and then I see it is yours. Great stuff!

Hahahha! I know which mini you are reffering to.... thanks for the nice comments man I am really happy you liked it!

The reason its is not in Lustria is that of the many commisions I have painted, that one is the first one to go to one of our fellow lizards... So I didnt wanted to post it in case that person wanted to posted instead. you will all see it here soon most likely

After putting this guy away for so long! he is finally done! I can finally move on to the carnosaur conversion. Not utterly convinced about how he turned out but I still like him!

Let me know your thoughts and point out any rook for improvement that you see

Exactly what type of improvements could us mere mortals recommend to the Golden Serpent grand champion?

... as for improvements.... :artist:
unless you are dead set on making everything mate,
you could put a bit of a gloss coat on the gems, for a little more realism. :writing:

Very impressed by the smooth gradients. Just great.

Lovely :D i'm guessing you used an aerograph for those gradients? (otherwise I should beg for a masterclass or tutorial of some sort………… :D)

By the way @Xlanax_lot , can i as you for a piece of advice? I need some help with painting black parts on my models (details are on the last posts on my blog if you need them). How do you usually go about that? Thanks a lot :D

Thanks man!

Yes the tranaitions from black to blue where made by glasing with an airbrush, same for some parts of the shell and the crystal on top of the solar engine. I find those types of transitions to be much faster to do with an airbrush. Otherwhise you just need a lot of patience.

black and white are the hardest colors in my opinion to paint. Basically because you want to create contrast and with them it is difficult to create the shades without taki g it a lot to grey. Therefore what i do is the following.

1. Method is to preshade with white and than use nuln oil to built up the black color ( this is the fast and easy method but results are although good not as good as the second method)
2. I mix the black with dark blue, and yse that as my starting base, than move up or doyn for the shades and highlights adding black or very lottle white. Finally use some light grey to highlight just the edges of the pieces.

@Xlanax_lot Ok, that should give me material enough to work with, thanks a lot! I'll be needing black quite a lot for my next models so hopefully that'll allow me to practice.
Looking forward to that Carnosaur!! :)
