Dose a Slann and his TG bodyguards deploy together as a HG choice or do the TG deploy as regular and the Slann added to them last? It seems an unfair tactical advantage for your opponent to know where your general is going quite awhile before you know where his is going.

The slann deploys after the TG when all other chars deploy.

But then your opponent will know where the Slann is going anyway because he has to join the Temple Guard, so it doesn't really matter anyway... Unless you have more than one unit of Temple Guard of course.

pg.3 in the rule book says characters are deployed last ... but can be deployed within units

actually I think it's vice versa, and the temple guard have to join the slann... Might be thing popping up thou, cause I'm really tired.

No characters are deployed last and the heroes may join any unit they wish in the deployment phase. Again I point to pg.3 in the rule book

More often than not your Template Guard unit and Slann will hold the middle. I would almost always put them down first to get rid of an almost always obvious placement for a unit.

Craken is right: follow the general rules of deployment in the BRB.
That been said, I think I get your point hellbreaker. The Temple guard has to join the slann as to their sacred duty, but you don't field them togheter at the same time. Remember you can field TG without a slann in the new edition, so your opponent can't know for sure if he's up against a Slann or another General before characters is deployed.
