8th Ed. Question about Enchanted Shield

Hey everyone!

I have a question about the Enchanted Sheild. In the Army Book it says its Armour and gives a 5+ Armour Save. Would this comnine with the 5+ Scaly Skin save of a Saurus Scar Vet to give him 4+? or am I missing something? Would a regular shield not do the same for less points?

The Enchanted Shield is a shield....
thats +1 betther than a normal shield.

and it combines with scaley skin and regular armor to give a better armor save.

Buy Dragonhelm+normal shield instead. Advantages;

- 2+ ward against flaming (pretty handy given the cheapness of Banner of Eternal Flame, and the popularity of Lore of Fire as a magical dakka option in many armies)
- Same bonus to armour save
- 2/3rds the magical budget cost (which lets you sneak in a Potion of Speed on your character)
- only 1pt more in absolute terms
- look like a badass

If you want a scarvet to go in a unit then consider normal sh, light armour, dragon helm, dawnstone, venom and great weapon.

4 Str 7 poisoned magical attacks with a re-rollable 2+ armour save and a ward against flaming attacks! Ok, the save is only 3+ in combat due to the GW.
