Reminds me of Mission Thunderbolt, perhaps the greatest 8 bit computer game every made.

You start out in a futuristic Hell hole with basically nothing. For the first couple levels you are excited to find a baseball cap and rely on throwing rocks at things.

I wish they made Mission Firebolt for PC (the sequel). I almost bought a Mac just to play Mission Firebolt.

The game creator planned two more sequels after that but never got around to it. :(
