Because it is true. So many things to do and not enough time to do them all. We each have to choose our best options. From this little discussion, Lovecraft does not appear that it should be very high on that list.

Meh. I think it is worth to take a look. They are not _bad_ per se. Just... Not my style.

I know there are many people who love them. They are Grimdark Horror and although the storytelling is kinda slow they are well structured.
So if you are into that genre you should give them a try.
