Great listen as always!

I have two questions after listening to this:

1: We can be almost assured that Salamander spam is going to go away soon, and maybe Kroak gets nerfed hard as well. What do you think we'll be able to do against the Lumineth if that happens?

2: I'm with Erta, I like Coalesced better than the old style of play. Plus, I don't have 100+ Skinks to flood the board with, lol! Is there any possible way to try and use Coalesced effectively against them?

glad you liked it! on to the questions
1 yes we have acsess to several methods but you need range or some other way to hit the callers we can win in the melee game as long as their callers are dead. another method is to hit them before or between set ups they can be very tanky but only when you let them bunker up. if you get to the OB first and force them to charge you they loose a lot of that.
2 i actually run my saurus in starborn dracothions tail so sorry not a coalesced player. but yes there are ways to do that first i would go for knights over warriors as you need to beat them to OB points and they have 2 wounds a model so the dawnridders don't hurt as much. second realize that you have no faction abilities when fighting them none of the things that will be hitting your guys deal more then 1 damage and cold blooded does not protect you from battle shock from lost models so kill the callers as fast as you can

Ah, I actually didn't even realize that people liked running Saurus in Starborne, lol! Everyone's got the idea that Starborne is the Skink faction and Coalesced is for Saurus :P

I guess you can still actually pump up the damage on Saurus and dinosaurs in Starborne pretty close to the way you do in Coalesced. I don't do tournaments, but I still like to have a chance against meta lists. I suppose I should go ahead and practice with Starborne more.

the the sunclaw is better in starborn +1 rend to weapons is great when paired with spears and Dreacothions tail lets you deep strike and teleport with them bypassing their slow speed. throw in saurus support and they are almost as deadly bur far more flexible

I ran thunderquake templehost with 40 skinks against lumineth and it did great, but I've got lucky. Kroak shut Teclis down with 3 natural 10+ rolls, while bastiladons finished him with shooting. It is very hard to get away from minimum 30" threat range, when you want to be as close as possible. Skinks did great with MWs from Starpriest.

Poor BoC, Still so weak not a single friend of just a skink wants to play them

A friend of mine plays them and they can be good... if the opposition is'nt playing tournament winning level lists. They definitely are among the worst armies if not the worst but at a casual table they are decent.

Edit: they would benefit greatly from having the new 40k morale test

Isnt the best Beasts of Chaos units Bestigors? Other then that i cant think of anything they have that poses a serious challenge, although as always its possible for some uber souped up custom monster

Bullgors hit really hard when they manage to get to you (i usually play almost full melee when he plays BoC to get a tighter game)

As i said at a casual table, meaning the list is not efficient and you know it or there is a theme involved, they can perform reasonnably well.

I love me some cow spam

hey all due to travel and personal illness we haven't been able to record lately . so to tide you all over and due to a request Erta prerecorded some readings of his favorite books and poems(including a bunch of warhammer stuff) these will go up when ever life gets in the way. Have fun!

Thanks for another great video! I agree that salamanders were increased too much, but it sounds like they did okay with the rest of the point changes. I'm just glad that they didn't increase the cost for Lord kroak or any of our other Heroes.

I've never played against KO, but now that they seem to be very good maybe we'll start seeing more of them.

IMO KO are the best or second best book in the game right now.

I think KO is the best counter meta army. However, KO is pretty bad against a lot of middle pack armies like S2D, OMT, and Skaven. This is partly due to GW balancing a lot of high meta armies as glass hammers, being hero dependent, or a mixture of both. And KO has the mobility and range to successfully pick apart most linchpin units.

I can see that, I just think a good KO player will probably be able to play themselves out of those mid tier matchups. Either way, will definitely be exciting to see what kind of meta emerges after so long in quarantine.

Absolutely. I also speculate that the first month of post quarantine meta will be way different than what eventual shake out. So much of meta is theory craft atm. At that theory craft will probably be the dominate presentation for meta until it gets the chance to be disproven.

For sure. People have been putting some wild stuff through the paces on TTS.
