8th Ed. Old Blood with The Blade of Realities?

The special rule of the weapon is that is does not cause wounds unless the victim makes all his Leadership tests. The model is just outright slain.
Unless the wording in the Skaven Army Book says something to the effect of "Once the Abomination is Slain..." I would say nope it is dead, pick it up off the table.

"As soon as the Hell Pit Abomination loses it's last wound, remove the model and place a marker (a coin will do) to mark the death spot" blah blah blah.
By the way, the table is 1-3 dead, 4-5 rats and 6 the Hell Pit does a get back up.

That said, the rules for the BoR don't say remove the model from the table, just that it is slain instantly. So, you will now have to check with your opponent weather or not "slain instantly" is the same as reducing W to 0 instantly or weather it's removed from the table, as that decision really isn't yours to make.

Of curse, this is getting into the massive RAW of it all, and that is the exact reason I pointed that out, because going RAW ruins the game, because RAW is RAW.... Untill someone has a dispute to the meaning of the word.

And don't you think that's a bit much of a commitment to kill 1 235 point model? (That monster of a point sink you suggested is like 600 points).

doesnt rulebook say that model is slain when its W is reduced to 0? Only things that remove model from the play deny abos comeback

Nope worked out great, opponent actually ended up dropping Abomination last and on the other side of the table, in the end it was taken down by a unit of Saurus and a Steg.

Where the Old Blood excelled was he charged out of the unit of Cold One Cav into his unit of Plague Monks with Plague Furnace and issued a challenge and single handed took down Furnace and rider in turn 2.

The rest of the Cold One Cav protected his flanks from a unit of Clan Rats, a unit of Slaves and a unit of Giant Rats with couple of Pack Masters and a Master Molder. They were awesome, first time I have had them last all six turns.

Having a mounted BSB in that unit made a HUGE difference, I will never run Cold One Cav without having the BSB in the unit or right next to the unit ever again.

Ouch, sounds like quite the unit.
Am thinking now that it might be useful to run this against WoC.....
Sure, General is LD9, but if he has 2-3 tests, bad for him....
