AoS No rend on troglodon....

Not a nitpick at all. The Trog is personally the most disappointing warscroll in the book. Luckily, we got Stegadon Chiefs to fill in as the melee Skink beatsticks that I hoped the Trog would be.

I'm torn on the Carno, though. When the book first came out I was wishing for more rend on the claws and jaws, but I've come to like the way they play considering their points cost - they can punch above their weight with the right setup.

What they're really missing is mount traits, one of which should definitely be a rend buff.

naw at the very least trogs didn't get worse in the new book. rippers are the most disappointing.
hey GW what do you have for us in the new boook?
well we took the mediocer damage dealer you guys have been using due tyo having nothing else and we made them worse in every way now they deal 1/5th the damage can no longer deep strike (like at all not just within 3") amd we made bloat toads worce.
...... why?

they wanted to sell stuff to people that had their armies already, the entire book was meant to force people who owned half the model range to buy the other half.

rumors are turtles are getting mount traits. Would love it if the carnos and trog got mount traits as well. A mount trait that Gave rend would be awesome.

907A5795-E15B-43A6-8A15-65B96C5391C4.png Warhammer community coverage of broken realms. The featured factions preview for deepkin mentions mount traits. Its a rumor because we don't know if it will be allowed in competitive play yet or not.

well bastiladons need it more then the rest but hearsay is just that ill believe it when it happens
 
I’m not totally down on the Trog, but he didn’t really pack a punch in the few games I’ve played with him. I kind of think he should be the flip of Carno, where he has rend on his ranged attacks. Maybe that makes him too much like a salamander?

I also don’t think his “drawn to the screams” ability makes as much sense if you can just charge anyone. But it is nice to have the charge reroll.

I also wish they had done something else with his blindness. Maybe an extra sense or something? Something like a “blind sense” that forces teleporting units to set up like 10 or even 12 inches away?

But hope is the first step toward disappointment...
