The base is made with simple cork board. Once glued to the base, I chip out my desired pattern with a hobby knife and then seal everything with 2 coats of Varathane polyurethane varnish.

Smart, gives a great rock effect.

I think they are some of the very best from the Forge World Chaos Dwarf range. And they are definitely beefy models, they fill out those 50x75mm bases quite nicely.

Probably not as efficiently as I would like, but we'll see. That will be one of the key topics of exploration of my MathHammer Close Combat Bonus Matches thread. They have some solid stats on paper, but their abysmal two attacks per model will likely hinder them.

When they were first created by GW, not many things had 2 attacks. Now however......

Though you'd have thought that given these are significantly bigger than the 4th Edition versions and were designed and released in the 8th Edition era (I think), GW would have given them an additional attack to hold out against other Monstrous Beast and Monstrous Cavalry units.

More procrastination (should be painting my Magma Cannon), but at least it is hobby related.
A big 100x150mm base for my K'daai Destroyer (for scale, the bull centaur is sitting on already pretty large 50x75mm base)...



It's hard to see on the picture, but for the Destroyer base, I went with a double layer of cork board to give it a little be more depth. It's been sealed with two coats of varnish. Might add a skull to the central platform, and then it will be ready for undercoating and paint!

It took me way too much time to paint. I got to get this Destroyer completed if I am to have any chance of reaching my 1000 point goal by years end. Odds are slowly stacking up against me.
