A funny little moose, cut from Maple.

Everyone likes Moose! (Except when they charge your car, or you for that matter).

We used to have Moose in Britain you know... hundreds of years ago. They are extinct here now (unfortunately for all moose fans, but fortunately for everyone’s cars).

Thanks. I've been wanting to create projects like this for a long time, but I never had access to thin (1/4") exotic wood. I finally found a store that sells such stock and is within a somewhat reasonable driving distance.
 
that turtle is really wonderful.
I really like how the green wood shows lines that replicate the growth of the turtle's scales.

I purchased that green poplar specifically for this project. I really like the colour and as you say, the grains of the wood add to the piece.
