8th Ed. New to WHF & Lizardmen (Here is what I have & all painted)

21 Saurus Warriors with Hand Weapon and Shield
8 Kroxigor (Classic models, one with converted Ogre Sword)
5 Chameleon Skins
40 Skinks - All unit colour cohesive (2 units of 10 with Javelin and Shield, 2 units of 10 with Blowpipe)
6 Saurus Cavalry
3 Terradons with riders
3 Salamanders with Handlers
1 Ancient Stegadon with interchangable Engine of the Gods
1 Stegadon with Giant Bow

I have yet to buy the WHF rulebook, templates, etc... Or even an Army book yet...

Any thoughts on that army?

Slaan on Palanquin- i'd suggest lore of life, and 3 disciplines- i usually go for Focus of mystery, focused rumination and becalming cogitation, but unitl you get some temple guard, maybe higher state of conciousness will be better for him (i.e. ethereal)

Scar Vet on Foot - useful as a cheap hq choice

2 Skink Priests on Foot- same again, look at making 1 of them a level 2, if not both, between them they'll have just abou the whole lore covered.

1 Skink Chief on Foot- good choice to lead the 20 skinks with javelin and shield

21 Saurus Warriors with Hand Weapon and Shield- Good solid block, add the scar vet to this unit

8 Kroxigor (Classic models, one with converted Ogre Sword)- with these and 2 to the 20 skinks w/javelins for a nice skrox unit (skink/kroxigor mixed unit) i you can find 3 more skinks w/javelins you can fit a 3rd in that unit. However i'd run 2 in skrox and 6 as a solid unit, 3 wide by 2 deep, a unit that any opponent will fear

5 Chameleon Skins - awesome war machine hunters. remember they can scout and deploy only 10 inches from an enemy unit, target machines with these guys.

40 Skinks - All unit colour cohesive (2 units of 10 with Javelin and Shield, 2 units of 10 with Blowpipe)- as said, make the 20 javelins 1 unit with chief and krox, the other 20 make them 2x10 units of skirmishers for harrassing the enemy.

6 Saurus Cavalry- good in CC but at small numbers use them for war machine hunting or protecting your flanks/ supporting a charge.

3 Terradons with riders- again great for WM hunting and dropping rocks on an enemy unit en route.

3 Salamanders with Handlers- IMO a must for any lizard player these days. remember they can march 12" and still shoot. so make use of this.

1 Ancient Stegadon with interchangable Engine of the Gods-, Awesomeness on a steg! need i say more. just bear in mind if you field him ( and why wouldn't you?) you may not be able to take all you other heros (scar-vet, 2 preists and chief) due to points limits for heros)

1 Stegadon with Giant Bow- great all rounder
