Hi there. I'm going to the Giant Fanatic tournament in Denmark in October. I was planning on playing O&G, but as it turns out, i don't have enough time to paint the army to the standard i want. So i decided to build a Lizzardmen army and "dip" it.
I decided to buy the army over a span of 2 months simply because i tend to change my mind a lot when picking my army. By investing the money in 1 army, I'm pretty much forced to stick with it
So far I've bought a Slann, 2 units of skinks, 1 unit of saurus warriors, 1 unit of cold ones, 2 skink priests, 2 salamanders and a stegadon. I'm planning on getting the rest next month (pretty much)
Anyways, i need some help on putting a decent list together, so that i can start playing and get used to the army. However, i have a few requirements.
The list MUST follow the restrictions from last years GF tournament (PDF can be downloaded from my dropbox) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2697317/GF_12_-_Restrictions.pdf
Please please please make sure that you read (it's less then ½ a page) the general AND the lizardmen specific restrictions before you give too many suggestions
I don't want to run a slann in a unit of TG. I just don't like it. So if the list includes a slann, he has to be on his own. Also, if you would suggest a magic heavy army, make sure that it doesn't rely on magic alone. with the magic system (power/dispel dices being put into a common pool and split evenly between the two players) it will be too hard to get enough spells through to rely on magic only
The tournament has a comp system (which i don't really know anything about) so it CAN'T be a hard list. This doesn't mean that it should be super soft or anything. It should be able to hold it's ground. Just leave the cheese at home
I'd like it to be a balanced list. So it has to include a bit of everything.
If for some reason the magic is completely left behind, all i need for magic defense is a lvl 1 with a scroll. if you have read the restrictions, you'll know that dices are divided between the players.
Lastly I want the list to include at least 5 (preferably more) scoring units as the tournament is based on scenarios. A scoring as to have a cost of minimum 100 pts and have a US of 5+ at the end of the game. a double scoring unit has to have a cost of minimum 100 pts, have a US of 15+ at the end of the game as well as have a Standard bearer.
I have had 1 game so far. I'll post the list i used a bit later. Right now I've got some saurus to assemble
Thanks
