AoS New to AOS, go skinks!?

Their traits may seem underwhelming, but real actual underwhelming trait is coldblooded, and if you play mass skinks/hunting packs. Unmodified Ld 8 on saurus is ok.

I personally enjoy coalesced more, but starborne is more competitive choice, since they are better at board control, which is most important thing in matched play. If you go full destruction, I'd vote for coalesced.

Bravery doesn't really mean much to seraphon anyways because we are swimming in cp. Unless you're stingy and hoard cps then I guess bravery could be an issue
 
Thunder Lizard with many skinks can have issues, since it needs cp to buff bastiladons.
 
Then you've already made your decision on what to care about. Only point in saving skinks from battleshock is for obj control which to be frank is needed on turn 2.
 
so if i plan to go more mini skinks hoard Starborne / Fangs of Sotek and if i plan on something more monster oriented Coalesced / Thunder Lizards. this thing is a lot more complicated to figure out than i expected haha, no buyers remorse yet tho.

well the complexity is why many of us love it. but also just getting what you like and painting it there is a lot to love in this hobby
 
Hey everyone, I have a question that I think might fit in this thread: For the Terradons in the Skink start collecting box, should I build three normal skinks with Bolas, or a Skink Alpha, or a terradon chief?
 
Build 6 terradons, find a chief later. Even without chief they are decent skirmishers.
 
Maybe AoS 3.0 will allow for greater variety in unit sizes (like 40k), so you don't end up with one leftover model if you buy a box and build one Ripper Alpha + Teradon Chieftain.
