AoS New to AoS beginner list ideas

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about getting in to AoS and I love the Seraphon look and lore. I have next to no idea how to play or what lists are best other than the general rule of "Pick skinks or saurus and stick to it".

If possible, I'd like to incorporate both races even if it is 20/80 ratio or something like that, for nothing more than having some diversity in my collection. I'd be looking at starting at around 1k points, probably including one of the start collecting boxes with scope to expand later.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Having a look at battalions would be a decent start. there are a few that ive enjoyed playing with. most things work in power pairs but you can easily mix things around.
2 starpriest, a unit of knights and a unit of skinks, maybe throw in some ripperdactyls or a carnosaur

I'm still trying to get my head around battalions but I'll have a good look!
