AoS NEW *rumor*

Why would lizardmen + vampire + ogres counts be the exception?

Why do you think they woudn't ever come to Old World either?

I didn't say we will never come to TOW. But I am sure we will be among the last ones to be made playable.

Unless GW goes for something similar to the Index releases at the start of 40k 8E, which is possible, but not likely imho.

Am I the only one kinda disappointed if a banner bearer is one of the new kits? like...its a banner. kinda annoying if that counts as one of the new boxes.

it does look cool though. i mean, i want it...but i hate myself :P

I like this model. I have some nitpicks, like the astrolith not being a closed circle/ring, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker. It does feel a little "Slaanesh-like" in its style. I'm more surprised that this model keeps the current rules for the astrolith. Hmmm...

I'm not. It's one of the models I expected GW to update, especially based on the rumor engine that this solves.

As far as I can tell, using the old Lizardmen alphabet, the Astrolith does not spell out anything in English. A couple of my choices of glyph may be off and GW has added a couple glyphs of which I'm unsure.

Reading from the top of the Astrolith down the glyphs are
H, A, B, ?, 3, G, L, CH or Z, X, W or U, Q, D, O, M

Reversed it would be
M, O, D, Q, W or U, X, CH or Z, L, G, 3, ?, B, A, H

I think its just to keep the anticipation going until they're released. They're unlikely to announce something like new knights or guard just yet so something small like the astrolith bearer is a nice way to remind people of the range refresh coming.

I do have a special appreciation for finecast and metal models and I think I will be picking up the old bearer and kroxigor before they go into the void.

Holy hell new model reveal already, and it's looking amazing. Rules are still great, everything is going according to The Plan (TM).

I have the same nit picks, but it is a cool model. I expect that any major changes to the the rules will show up in the battletome for any straight 1:1 replacements of old finecast models. Though if they do split the release from early may to late summer for the battletome, they might try out some Beta rules with early model releases in a May release battleforce box and then shift them by the release of the battletome. I am doubting this though, because I am guessing that we will get a "collectors" battletome in whatever early release box we get, like they have done with a lot of army refreshes lately (Khorne, Beasts of Chaos, etc.)

I am more intrigued by the secret Starborn army. I am loving the fact that they have some models obviously painted to match that lore, and it would be so cool to see all of the models painted in that color scheme together in photograph from GW. Otherwise, I might need to do it myself and paint all of my new models in that color scheme. It will be a lot faster than my current army color choices.

I was looking at this as well, again a missed chance at something good...

Grrr, !mrahil

I am 100% going to (try) to copy the Starborn theme. It's just so good. Good thing that I didn't build and paint any Saurus kits so far, lol.

If you drybrush the plates instead of edge highlighting every single one, the "time spent" vs "looks great" quota should be really good. The fading from grey to blue on the belly should be more readily achievable with stippling, instead of glazing.

Definitely doable, my current army scheme is secretly to overtly rainbow Mardi Gras themed. With at least a little bit of ROYGBIV hidden on every model. And I am currently hand painting every scale, and I gotta stop doing that part when I am tired

Definitely post up some pics if you get started with that!!
