More lore than anything, but I kind of like the implication in the new stormcast tome as to why the Seraphon gave the Draconith away to the stormcast. The lore blurbs about them hammer home that stormcast/draconith pairs tend to act more as mentors/mentees or siblings than anything else, with the young draconith learning morality and evolving personality/culture from their relationship with the stormhost they join and the specific stormcast they partner with.
They’re a culture-less people without real role models of their own (besides two old, mentally unstable drakes that hid away from the war against chaos until it was relevant to them), and it seems like the seraphon’s intent was to give them stormcast’s greatest trait by pairing them together- humanity.
Its lore written to justify the models so it’s not like “this means it’s good we didn’t get them as part of our army” but I think it’s really cool as lore and as reasoning for us to hand over some teenage dragons we’ve hatched
