I'm sad to still be relates to slanns.
As skink player, i'm looking for the FoS trait which hors with all the slanns boons.
I'm sad...

But rippers and skinks Can get some MW abilities from the starPriest. 60/80 shots is fun with poisons.
 
A bit sad about our battalions. At least all the subfactions seem very good. The points seem over all in the right places. Terradons/Rippers are too cheap, Hunting packs a little overcosted, and Trogs about 20MPP too much. EotGs also seems over costed. I think 240 was the right space for it.
 
Since I plan on using almost only saurus guard, I'm neither here nor there in terms of happiness. We got the wound increase and thick skin, but lost the 2+ save or the skink priest buff to reroll saves together with our shields protection to rend.

Can someone crunch the math to see if we actually got more survivable or not for saurus guards?
 
Welp, Fangs of Sotek are amazing. I think my first list might be all Skinks. Maybe throw in an Aetherquartz brooch to farm more cp for the retreat and shoot ability. Also like Dracothion's Tail a lot. Just due to the deepstriking it still has a fair amount of board control and ambush. Coalesced also impress me more after reading their battalions and subfaction traits/artefacts.

I like fangs too but I'm gotta try to make a grindy koatls claw list work with geminids and a couple big blocks of saurus.

Then prolly go to a full shooting list :)
 
Are our battalions pretty much the same unit compositions?
 
@ILKAIN my local store manager told me a couple weeks ago that preorders usually go live at 1pm EST.

There have been A LOT of posts, and I've only skimmed most of them, so I'm late to game after watching the reviews. It looks like we've shifted from movement/summoning shenanigans to heavy command point generation shenanigans, yes?

Saurus still seem a bit meh as generals, based on traits & artifacts.

Despite it being interesting that we got flying skink chiefs, what we needed was MORE heroes (he said sarcastically).

Trog went from rarely seeing the field to being so integral you'd almost be foolish not to take it.

Man, GW LOVES Skinks.

I won't deny that, thematically, I like the Starborne vs. Coalesced concept, but the warscrolls seem a bit "generic" or "repetitive". Again, glass half empty kind of person (too often), but the army generally feels a little watered down. Naturally this is all just at first blush and probably me being resistant to change. IDK.

I don't think I'm going to preorder and may let my interesting lizards rest in my memory a bit. My group doesn't play much any way. They're really into Warcry about which I'm only so-so.

Accurate summations. Pretty sure our MW output and Skink builds are going to very well in the current meta.
