AoS NEW *rumor*

I
So, I'm guessing it's safe to say that changes in lore are 100% dependent on the direction GW is taking the overall AoS story in, and in no way with player feedback?

I ask because IIRC, when AoS was first introduced and the Seraphon were announced as "good daemons," GW got a bit of flak for it. Wonder if this is them course-correcting (or over-correcting IMO)...but deep down, I know this is just them pushing the overarching story forward and for verification of new rules changes...*shrug*
I think player feedback was part of it but I think mostly the creatives led the charge there.

Both Phil Kelly and Josh Reynolds are big Seraphon fans and both were kinda going against the mindless order demons made of starlight thing already, it likely didn't take much more pushing to retcon them entirely into "no these are OG lizardmen don't worry."

Wow this thread flies fast... :)

I wonder if skinks will lose the option to have blowpipes and shield

I really hope not - I only recently finished painting my 40 skinks with this load out... I always go for WYSIWYG.

Having the Seraphon flesh and blood is best news ever.. this memory fluff is pretty silly IMO.

As a noobie, I hope we get to bring to the table more heroes / commanders... right now everything seems to be built around the Slann, that almost all list contain the same models/loud out. Hopefully the new book brings some variety to lists.

Also full Steg. Battle Line?? damn there goes my wallet out the window.

You know something that has been conspicuously absent from the new artwork we've seen... Cold One Knights. I know we've seen them in a photo from the tome promo, but not in the few art pieces revealed. Of course, I would love them to be hidden b/c of new sculpts for knights (and warriors), but it just makes me wonder if they're just not that good/cost effective in the new tome. It's silly to base something like that on a lack of art, but whatevs.

All we can do is wait and see when our books arrive and the reviews start coming out. Honestly, I can't imagine that they'll make our faction worse than it is now. I can almost certainly assume that we'll lose a few things that will be missed, and that we won't be as broken on release as Tzeentch, Bonereapers, Slaanesh etc. But I have high hopes that it will be an overall improvement and will hopefully make strategies other than Skink spam do well. The thought of a true all dino army sounds really exciting. I hope that we at the very least get some true hammer and anvil units, and that our knights get a much-needed speed and damage increase.

Also in the image of the Realmshaper Engine on WarCom it looks like the Skink Starpriest is on a 32mm base based on the steps it is standing on

The way I interpret the lore update is that there are still Seraphon that are conjured memories and ones that have 'Coalesced' and are flesh and blood.

Not really sure the gameplay and unit specs ramifications of this but the way I read it is that they'll be able to be played one of those two ways with there being benefits/drawbacks to each. There seems to be a lot of focus on how the Starborn have 'strange abilities' while the Coalesced utilize more 'primal fury'

Sorry if these are all obvious things I'm stating it just seemed like a lot of people are focusing on whether or not Seraphon are one or the other when in reality it seems as if they'll be both.

Is it the most expensive Faction Terrain that GW has?

where did you find the prices?

meh, more worried about that SC set bein a 100,-. It's already a fairly underwhelming box as you don't have many options for alternative loadouts or kit-bashing as the current one, but this also makes it significantly more expensive..

where did you find the prices?
Prices are posted by Spikeybits (spikeybaits..) but they tend to be good with prices.

Unrelated I am very curious, so far in all the reveals there have been no pictures of Saurus on foot or of guard models. These were/are a main battle line.. I mean they are the front cover of the tomb yet no pictures yet.
Am I just paranoid and hopeful - yes, but it does seem a little odd to me
