AoS NEW *rumor*

yes it does. English language syntax. acknowledging that there might be a replacement effect or mechanic for the endless spells that weren't released IS confirmation that they aren't coming (as of that post) and (in toeing the company line) generating hype for potential other things to keep the disappointment from no endless spells from turning the thread sour.

No, it doesn't. May, in this context, means possibility. Also, the facebook group has this in their about "And a quick note on rules questions - we can’t give you official answers. We’re not the Games Designers, they’re locked up in the studio. We might be able to give you some general advice or point you in the right direction but better to try and work it out with your gaming buddies. We’ve also no idea who’d win in a fight between Nagash and Archaon but we’re happy to speculate with you!"

So according to this, they have not confirmed no endless spells and they're statement is pure speculation.

I'm no expert either, but from what I've seen the rules/stats in WC don't really correlate well with AoS stats. At least this can be said of the original WC cultist warbands (ie. Iron Golems, Untamed Beasts, etc) which all have varying stats in WC as well as each having several niche abilities depending on the cult (avoid veritcal movement for corvus, poison weapons for splintered fangs, etc). In AoS, these units all have the same basic stats (1A/+4/+4/-/1) with a minor unique ability that correlates with their WC ability and minor buffs for the unique looking models within the warband (ogor in iron golems, snakes in splintered fang, etc.) instead of having your regular champion, musician & stnd. bearer.

To be fair tho I haven't really seen too many of the non-cultists cards, but from what I have seen they don't really seem to correlate all that well IMO. For example DoK blood sisters are pretty tanky in WC with 25 or 30 wounds (can't remember exactly) which is similar to the IG Ogor @ 30 wounds. In AoS the sisters only have 2 wnds ea and the ogor 3.

Hm, looking at these two examples, maybe there is a slight, very slight, correlation of approx. 10 WC wnds per 1 in AoS? Doubt it's that straightforward though. I'm sure someone out there on the world-wide webs has tried to correlate the two stats to some extent. You could probably googles it lol

Just a bit of clarification for the ogor bits, AoS ogors have 4 wounds each. In Warcry the basic ones have 30 wounds, and the leader variants have 40 wounds.

Cant speak about the others, I only play Seraphon and Mawtribes. But it's my belief that warcry let's the models be a bit more in tune to the lore of the race. Other than that, I'm not sure how GW does the stat conversions. It's pretty strange.

This isn't the worst outcome we could have gotten.

We have new blood bowl miniatures which can be converted. (And look really nice)

We still exist abd have a new battletome coming.

We're in warcry.

Bout it as I don't give a poop about the terrain piece.

And they thought the Spell in a Bottle for KO was hard to balance.
Imagine us throwing out the skavne warp lightening spell, then a comet. That'd make anyone cry.
Yeah it would definitely be a tad OP.
But maybe we could get a short list of available spells from one or two factions.

FREE endless spell just cuz? :p
Good idea! Because masters of magic.

As great as this is, to see we aren’t fading out of reference... they have to be aware that we’ll be the worst looking warband by a mile?

Almost without exception, our non-hero models are pretty dated, and I doubt they’d introduce flyers just to use our ripper kit.

Welp, it’s what I was hoping for!

Even though Seraphon is one of the most popular factions, seems GW just doesn't like us I guess. Still jerking it on Chaos and Stormcast
Nah, death is really the faction in the spotlight right now.

hopefully whatever they are planning for us is good...

One thing I have observed in the STD warband ... why do they use the old warrior chaos instead of the new ones? It could happen the same with seraphon, maybe or maybe not, but maybe it's to sell more old models in the WC format, what do you think?

your English analysis is off, that's objective. your looking at the definition of the word not the syntax of the usage. the rest is subjective to which I'm happy to agree to disagree

Well nothing official has been announced it's only speculation at this point. We only know new book and new temple. We know nothing beyond that and as they said themselves, they are not the game designers, they cannot give official answers. We have zero idea what else is coming and highly doubt the facebook group does as well.

yeah, SCE are suspiciously absent given that they're the supposed poster boys of the freaking age of sigmar. It's kinda odd.

it's a post on an outlet that explicitly states they don't make any official announcements regarding official releases. Dissecting it on grammar/syntax/etc. seems like reading into it far too much into of what's probably the work of an intern or otherwise super junior member of their team who's liable to not not know much more on this subject that we do anyway. All it is a neutral statement aimed to keep the hype alive for whatever it is that they release without actually saying anything.

Also, minor sidenote, natural language is subjective as hell, both interpretations are equally "valid" depending on which word of the sentence you'd accentuate. Natural language is weird....
