7th Ed. New models...

So what would you all recommend buying before the new models come out?

I was reading templeguard/teradons/stegadon and others.

Basically my question is... what can I buy and get painted ahead of time instead of doing an entire army at once?

it looks like saurus and skinks units arent changing you could get a slann and a carni as well mabye saurus calavry but i would hold on them because the new cold ones for dark elves means we might have some new ones in the near future

I would start with a battalion box and a slann. Then add your specials, rares, and heros when the new stuff comes out.

Yeah, I'm worried about getting the BB because of the possibility of new cold ones.

I was thinking about 2 boxes of saurus warriors and 2 skinks... then assuming they get an updated BB, I'll pick that up. Also, no spearhead for these guys? that sucks =/

There is no possibility of new Cold One Riders this edition. According to rumours they have even had some artwork done for CoRs based on the current plastic models.

Much as I prefer the DE raptors to our cutesy dino-cows unless you're willing to convert between I think we're stuck with it.

i tried using the new Dark Elf cold ones. They are to small too carry saurus riders. Might try and find a way of converting them, or failing that buy some of the old school cool godzilla looking ones from ebay!

ugh - thats what i was afraid of - they DE ones definitely look smaller! and elves are for sure smaller than the saurus as well...

it sure is. The new dark elf cold ones are brilliant models. I'm hoping once i've painted some up the newest lizardmen cold ones will grow on me.

i'd say you should buy the BB and a slann, you could always take every single bit from the COs and have fun, if we DO get new models for them.

maybe a steggi or slamanders, since the sally don't seem to change
