I see there is already a thread discussing predatory instincts. I was thinking we could just start a thread of some other things that are questionable.

I've got two that I can think of off the top of my head.

The way I read it; units with predatory instinct must pursue an enemy fleeing from combat unless there is a skink model close by in which case they can test to restrain as normal.

Not a slann??? The slann model always comes with a skink attendant. I'm counting that for now lol.

Another question I have is about stegadons. They are now like arachs in that you can't target the crew separately, which is great. However I believe it does say you can target skink characters separately. In this case; do they get an armor save from the howdah? The old book gave everything in the howdah a 2+, but I'm not seeing anything referencing that here. So is your skink priest stuck up there, targetable, with only a 6+?

Also can Skink chiefs or special characters on Terradons or Riperdons, join standard units flying with the same mounts like in the last edition ?

Edit:
After further investigation, I think 8th edition no longer has the restriction that 7th edition had,
wich is why they removed the exception to the rule in the monsters profile.

I'm pretty certain that as it stands the answer to this is definitively NO, but everyone is thinking surely this will be one of the first items FAQ'd, as it makes no sense whatsoever.

What's funny about this is the special character boosts the weapon skill of terradons in his unit, but they forgot to give him the ability to join units.

What rule is it that prevent's skink chief on terradon/ripperdactyl joining terradon/ripperdactyl unit? It isn't fly rule, and fast cavalry states that character who doesn't have the rule just breaks the loose formation (but being flying and more than one it doesn't matter

Pg. 97 brb states characters cannot join units of fliers.

I guess it's moot anyhow; it's only a matter of time before they FAQ it to say explicitly that skink heroes on terradons/ripperdactyls can join units of terradons/ripperdactyls.

Yup. I'm sure they will faq it so they can join as one of the special characters has a rule that affects his unit. Just have to wait.

It used to be 2d6 each (4d6 total).
if the wording is the same as before,

yes i know that in old book said 2d6 each ... i don't know about the new book

in the profile say's giant blowpipe 2d6.... so is the profile of the one blowpipe or is for both of them?

What does it say on the army list entry? It was two giant blowpipes, i'm assuming it will be the same

In the army list it says giant blowpipes. Under any rules section the entry for giant blowpipe refers to a single blowpipe. It also says up to two skink crew may each fire a single giant blowpipe. So it seems to me the ancient steg still has 2 giant blowpipes.

yes this is the part where i got confused
also about the chief if can join terradon unit i think it can it just they forget to write it because in the old book in tiktaqto the mask of heavens says the same thing about the 'unit he joins' so i think he can so chief too

How about this:
Direct Damage spell: Burning Alignment targets every enemy unit within 4D6".
Direct Damage spell: Deliverance of Itza targets every enemy unit within 12"/18"/24".
Are they limited to the wizards forward Arc and enemies not in close combat like normal Direct Damage Spells?

Arc of Sotek has a special shooting attack, all enemy units within D6" take 2D6 S2 hits.
Again, is it limit to forward arc, not in combat, and in line of sight?

The ark is a bubble effect as is the ancient steg. I would assume it hits enemy units in combat as well.
