I agree points drop on CoC would be awesome and needed, but normal cav in 8th took such a big knock because of the steadfast rule and the step up rule, that makes cav less desirable. I agree I love CoC as well from previous edition especially with Blessed Totem of the Huanchi when they could break most units getting into the flank
These days we can probably clear enemy support units with cheaper ppm options (skinks, chamos, hunting packs etc) and for flank charges our steggies or other monsters incoming.
And other armies struggle to justify knight busses like DE, VC and even HE. Although imo Martial prowess rule now gives HE the best chance as long as they have their ASF rerolls.
I love my cavalry but they just seem expensive (even at a reduced cost) to play, for the role they have to fullfill in 8th ed.
How do you guys feel about it? I know you have to very careful and choose your battles etc but in 7th ed they were worth it because they could break rank and file without receiving so many attacks back, cav was a force to be reckoned with then. seems like MC fullfills that role now, like Mournfang and skullcrushers...
Either way really keen to see our new armybook, I am sure we will have plenty of good options for different builds...
Only thing that I am sceptical about is the Ripperdactyls, feels like Geedub will have to give them boss special rules etc to make them a viable choice over terradons. The models are cool, but what are their niche going to be? Melee? with skink riders I need some convincing
