i played my second game with the lizzies today this time vrs a vampire army.
my list:
scar vet, armor of destiny, GW, cold one.
skink priest, lvl 2 beasts
20 saurus standard
bastilidon, solar engine
stegadon
2 salamander hunting packs.
his army
a lvl 3 necromancer
a lvl 1 vampire with shadow lore
2 blocks of skeletons
1 block of gravegaurd
1 unit of 3 (wraiths? the ethereal ones)
for spells i rolled up kadon (again) - he got a hex that kills stats for shadow (the ws/bs/I one) one to boost his dead guys, another that killed my movment, and one that moved his guys.
the game went pretty well. i wont bother with a turn by turn, but basically i got first turn, and used the solar engine to fry his wraiths or whatever they were. i advanced my scar vet up the flank, with the salamanders while the steg and saurus moved up to mid field. he replied with minor advances, and boosted his units. i was able to get the salamanders within firing range, and got my scar vet around the back of his grave gaurd, while my skink turned himself into a dragon....WITHOUT miscasting!!! i was like ZOMG... my salamanders fired at the grave gaurd, but both rolled a 10 on the arty dice and overshot the target. he then declared a charge, i fled, he failed to catch and i regrouped. that scenario played out again next turn.... his unit of skeles with vamp charged the steg, who held his own, and also managed to maintain leadership. (i was LOVING cold blooded...) the dragon burned a bunch of grave gaurd, and then next turn charged the flank of his skeletons with necro, while my scar vet got the rear charge, and the saurus hit the front. his necro challanged, fought my scarvet, who promptly chopped the little necro into bite size scooby snacks. the saurus and dragon accounted for the rest of the unit, and at this point, the vamps called game.
in the end, i had reduced his grave gaurd to command only, wiped out his wraiths, killed 1 unit of skeletons, and his necro. on my end i took 2 wounds to the stegadon, and thats it. i was VERY impressed with cold blooded passing ALL my ld 5-6 checks with ease, while the scarvet did exactly what he needed to, by getting around a flank and smashing a character in a challange. definitly much more improved over the list i had with cold ones and skink skirmishers. i only wish my salamanders managed to hit something instead of miss, then spend the game fleeing from charges and regrouping.
