8th Ed. New Army new player looking for adv..

Hi everyone,
im looking fwd to build first time in my life lizz Army.

I got:
Slann

2x skink priest (5ed)
2x skink hero (5ed)
Saurus Old One

Skrox (24 skink + 3 krox)
24 fullcommand temple guard
19 full command saurus with spears
2 x 10 skink skirmishers with the blowpies

2 x salamander hounting pack with an extra skink each

Stegodon (5ed)

3x terradon riders

How many points i should declaire. What kind od magic for Slann and the magic priests, what kind od magic weapon. Any opinion and ideas welcome. Bigup

I'd start out at a 1500 point army with what you have.

Run your Slann with your favorite magic in the book. Light and Life are good goto's, but so are Wandering Deliberations and High Magic. Any of those choices will be good for you.

Heavens spells are easier to cast for Skinks in my opinion. Beast spells are good if you really want to get those Saurus into the fray, but then again they are harder to pull off.

I think the models you have will make a decent 1500 point army though! Skrox + Saurus + Steg is a pretty tough core.

I agree, this is around 1500. Seems very solid indeed, with the addition of an extra monster (extra steg) and more skinks you have a solid 2K list. Should be easy going from there. I would keep your Slann as cheap as possible in under 2K, so just lvl 4, bsb and lore of light or life. I feel that high magic is best when you have loremaster, and you don't want that in this list yet. Feel free to post a final list and we will comment.
