Blog Nathans WIP

Ended up buying a 3d printer and printed this guy from lost kingdom. Tried a few things I'm not very experienced with and I think it turned out pretty good, never done water before and I'm pretty happy with how the base turned out. I've also never utilized drybrushing to the extent I did on the dog and it's not exactly how I wanted it but not to bad.20250514_024320.jpg 20250514_030130.jpg 20250514_030136.jpg

Thanks! I'm a big fan of these models and I'm pretty happy with how all the foxes turned out

Finished the first model for my ogre army, a sabertooth cat. I got a squad of 3 and I'm gonna do tiger lion and snow leopard style. I've done a tiger and snow leopard before so I'm just trying to refine my original techniques for those(the tiger was one of the first things I painted when I got back into painting as an adult) this one's the tiger and a pic of the original model I used this technique on.

I stepped way out of my comfort zone for this one and mixed primary colors and beige to get the skin tones, it ended up being a lot more work i think in large part because I didn't have a good blue so I used craft paints which seem to have significant different properties then I'm used to and it ended up more matte. I'm reasonably happy with the end result but I'll probably do the rest like I did the banner and maybe pull a few lessons I learned with this one to try and improve. 20250623_031115.jpg 20250623_031127.jpg

Excellent job on the skin tones. It looks really good. That's one angry boi looking for a fight!

Thanks! I'm gonna start on one of the characters tonight and try to mix some of the techniques together and see how it turns out.

Thanks! I had to redo the skin several times since the base layer kept peeling up when I was trying to put on highlights and she popped off the base since there's only one small point of contact. There ended up being a bit of texture on her back. I also used the wrong shade of green for the bamboo bits which isn't a huge deal but it makes the jade stuff blend in a bit more the it otherwise would. Overall she turned out fine but it was a bit of a frustrating experience lol.
