7th Ed. Moving fast very slowly 2500

I've been kicking around a idea of a 2 part army. This way need be, I can form two battle lines if need be aka Gunline bunker or fast cavy chaos. It has its weakness for sure, but I' thinking it may take people shock a few people. Here is my first try at a 2500 list with a OB.

I'm not sure what to think of it. Razors over salies because there are way to many ITP armies out right now and they are the most popular choices for units thx to all the fear causers. AKA deamons and vamps. I picked the temple guard because of the better armor save and weapon skill as well as being able to take a magic banner and the ATF sword on the champ just to hopefully wound before the enemy gets to attack. Mirror shield is for magic defence as this unit it toolded for aint-magic. So it can move at two speeds. Get there in a hurry and wait for 2nd wave of troops to help or slow depending on the enemy. So in closing critz would be great. Thx for reading

Sounds like a concept with potential. Here's my two cents:

For the points, I've never felt temple guard were worth it without a slann to give them stubborn/ ITP. You're getting 1 ws, 1i, and light armor for 4 more points a model vs saurus spearmen, but lose fighting in two ranks. Also, if you're close enough for the dominion standard to have an effect, you'll probably be in combat soon, when it's more likely that wizards will have LOS to it blocked.

Sword of Tzunki is alright, but blade of realities can offer spectacular results against monsters and hard to kill characters. Also, the mirror shield may work once, and then they'll just target the unit with something that's not a magic missile. In my experience, MM spells are usually aimed at smaller units where they have a chance of causing crippling damage (such as the cold one riders).

Razordons are one of my favorite units, but are a much bigger charge deterrent in a group of three. Don't dismiss the killing potential of two lone salamanders against big blocks of infantry or long lines of guys, ITP or otherwise.

From the focus of your list it looks like your opponents run magic heavy. It's a gamble, but the cube has a 50/50 chance of shutting down their entire magic phase, and might be an alternative to the 2 scrolls on the second priest.

The main thing is just to play test the heck out of the idea. My concern would be your fast attack front line guys getting in over their heads before the infantry can get there, but I'll never dismiss a tactic I haven't tried or come up against myself. I agree, the Temple Guard aren't really worth the points unless you run a Slann with them. Though they have a better stat line they just don't have the same effect as a regular unit of Saurus.

Here is a tactic you might consider with this list;

Set up your fast movers, CoC, Carnosaur, terradons etc. on one far flank. Put your big blocks of infantry on the completely other end of the board. Your opponent will have to either divide his army or focus on one side. Your fast movers can perform in either instance. If he/she faces off against your faster half you have the speed to close with your blocks, giving you more support. If they face off against your blocks of infantry you get good flanks/rears on your opponent.
If they decide to divide your fast movers have the hitting power to cut through whatever he/she will throw at them (combined charges) while your infantry blocks plod towards the other half of his force.

It's a bit of a risky tactic but with your army list you should be able to pull it off fairly successfully. I've used it on a few occasions and it completely throws off my opponents. So much so that they don't really adjust to it very well and I pull out massacres by turn three or four.
