Blog Models for the Model Throne! Paints for the Paint God!

Yeah, either his whip, his hair, or his boots. His hair would be the easiest, so probably that one. lol

My color palate. LoL. Even with black lining he doesn't have much contrast.

I can TOTALLY relate to not always liking what you do, but I think the model looks great @LizardWizard

I like the palette and I think you've balanced the colors around the mini nicely. What if you just highlighted the hair a little more?

Btw, I would love to paint this "badly" ;)

Yeah, I have considered going lighter on the hair. I might just white-scale the paints I used and keep highlighting. Sadly I should have done that in wetblends. I had thought about just going red or maybe grey with the hair, but I do prefer your idea of just going with more intensive highlights.

I finished preping some Bloodreavers.

They were given to me by a buddy who had them from the original SCE vs Khorne Starter set. They were super dusty and had to be washed. Sadly he plastic welded them together, so painting around their ax hafts will be a bit of a bother. Took about 2 hours to clean up their mold lines and brush prime them. I am hoping to finish off five of the ten this week. I stared on the skin for one and then lost the will to continues. 2 hours of prep work stole my previously bounding ambition. lol

This might be of interest to you, super easy skin tones.

Neat video. I keep thinking about buying an airbrush. It would certainly be quicker than using wet on wet blends for all the skin. lol

Honestly it is the best thing you will buy that helps speed up this hobby, priming takes seconds, blending is effortless on flat surfaces and if your doing any terrain well it’s minutes instead of hours.

Only thing I will say, buy a decent compressor.

Life got overwhelming the last 6 weeks. Managing a hobby shop around the holidays while trying to compile the year end report meant I had little to no time for real hobby work. Just about finished with the 10 Bloodreavers I started in November. heheheh waaaaaaah. Waiting for some glue to dry on the turf tuffs and skulls. I should be able to post some pics Wednesday or Thursday. Still no light box set up.
