AoS Missile retaliation?

During the retaliating phase. Can your unit use missile weapons or do they stand around and look stupid..
Ie. Unit of 10 skinks in melee combat survive initial charge. There are 6 in melee range 4 more than 1 inch away.
Do you only get 6 retaliating attacks or do the other 4 get attacks as will as they are using their spitters .
same for the stegadon...do the skinks get to attack with their spears

Or are no missile weapons allowed in retaliation

There is no such thing as a "retaliation phase" in AoS, every unit is treated the same, attacker or defender (note that the charging units don't go first either).
Anyway, to answer your question:
All models of units within 3" of an enemy are allowed to pile in and attack with all their melee weapons.
So yeah, no shooting in the melee phase, only 6 Skinks can hit in your example.
Since those are not going to do much damage anyway you might consider using Wary Fighters to get them out of range of enemy units.
