I am kind of done playing maxed character lists with slann and cowboys holding down all the points. I still want a high leadership general, a bsb and a spell caster who can make a difference in the magic phase. Here's what I came up with.

Tenehuain
Skink Chief, bsb, light armor, shield, banner of discipline
----------------Core--------------
3x 19 Skink Cohorts, banner, muso
4x 10 Skink Skirmishers, javelins

or

24 Skink Cohorts, FC, 3x Kroxigor
19 Skink Cohorts, banner, muso
3x 10 Skink Skirmishers, javelins
----------------Core--------------
3x3 Ripperdactyl Riders
Bastilodon, solar engine
2x5 Chameleon Skinks
30 Temple Guard, muso, standard, Razor Banner

4 Razordons
2x1 Salamanders

As you can see, there are a lot of units that can fit in once you reduce the number of characters. I am still at LD9 from tenehuain and the banner of discipline. I have a level 3 who will be throwing a lot of dice at wyssans, amber spear, curse and transformation.

Thoughts? I own all of these models so it shouldn't be too hard to put on the table. Just a matter of movement trays...

In my games it is the scarvets and oldbloods that give the punch. What in your army will punch?

I find rippers' initiative is too low
I find Templeguard are too squishy for their points value. If they had GW then I would take them.
I find skink skirmishers aren't fast enough/enough range to compete with cav lists.
I find sallies not having -3 to armour prevents them from threatening 1+ AS cav
