Notes for the day:
1. I need to get back into a "work day" mindset and better manage my time. I'm getting less done a day currently.
2. New unit idea for the guild myrmidian. Fanatics converted out of Wargames Atlantic Aztecs with heads from the boxer rebellion set. I didn't initially mean to use these bodies this way, of course I have the Aztec army project. I'm following the muses with this one.
3. I've finished 4 more pit fighters and another dog. Pics will be up when ready.
4. Speaking of the Aztec project, I have painted 2 shorn one warriors. Shields are in progress. Pictures will be up when they are based and ready, as shorn ones fought in pairs or loose groups of pairs.
5. In working on the shorn ones, I tried out the new Vallejo contrasts. So far, they are decent, medium pigment level contrasts that dry matte in finish. The yellow honestly feels like the frosted effect I used to get out of Vallejo washes is showing.
6. Cleaned the rest of Kevin's kruleboyz that have been sitting in paint stripper. They are now dry and in a bag for work.
7. I came across some of Kevin's chaos commission items I could probably finish quickly. We'll see what I can get done.
8. I need to finish my sprue clipping project. I've only got a box or so left, then I can sort bits.
9. I've been mulling over ideas for a massive diorama with the wargames Atlantic harvesters fighting different human factions throughout history/into sci Fi near future stuff.
The initial idea came when messing about with that cake pillar for my friends gift dioramas. I thought about making a multi tiered base with some sections separated, and each "cell" would be a vignette of harvesters vs an ascending ladder of adversaries through the ages.
Now I'm thinking about making it a group project, with a target start date in late June. Using my business platform to facilitate people requesting a harvester or an adversary figure to paint. Gives me a way to market my store with an incentive for contributing to the project. While also having an easy vehicle to manage shipping all the models out.
Is it a blatant pr grab for my store? Sure.
But it's also an idea for a community art project. Allowing for hobbyists to come together and created something awesome.
Or I just do it all myself, which seems less fun. Let me know what y'all think.
10. I drained the batch of vintage sisters I had sitting in paint stripper for 2 months. Most of the paint dissolved. Some of the models need scrubbing. I'm going to use the Vallejo blue steel I got late last year as the armor color when I repaint these.
11. Going to repaint the tactical marine project, as the "Midnight templars", a dark angels successor. Midnight blue and steel color scheme, for quick painting.
These are both part of my mission to color code my collections, with sci Fi Warhammer being blue, silver, white as main colors. With other colors showing up when appropriate.
Catch all fantasy in terms of game is red/yellow unless they fit into one of the below.
AoS sigmar is silver and purple, this is only stormcast and frankly is just a breather color scheme I paint in bursts over a weekend.
Death/undead regardless of game system are green as a major color.
Historical projects are painted historically accurate.
