Hmm, are you looking in the 8th edition Lizardmen book? I don't know that Hand of Glory is still a spell on Age of Sigmar. Just making sure you have your editions in order!
For 8th edition, yes that is a good combo. High magic can be very powerful if you know what spells synergize with your models, or if you know which ones can be used to disrupt an opponent.

Loremaster is a good choice, battlemage costs the same and you have some good ones to choose from, so just give yourself options. Loremasternos a great one for the rerolls, would work out well in a bloodclaw with dual carnosaurs.
