Hi all,

Started WHFB and Lizzies a short while ago. Bought a nice big army second hand and looking for some advice to work towards a list that I can use to be relatively competitive against all opponents.

Possible list A:

Slann probably light. perhaps life if TG die too quickly.
BSB Frenzy banner
Forbidden rod
Ironcurse icon

Scar-vet
Cold one
GW and Armour of destiny

Gor-rok

Skink priest beasts
Dispell scroll

Skink priest beasts

35 Saurus
Full command

3x 10 Skink skirmishers
Jav + shield

Bastilidon
Solar engine

9 Chameleon skinks

32 Temple guard
Full command
AP standard

Salamander

Salamander

Slann with the temple guard, gor-rok with the saurus. Forbidden rod is to boost one really important magic phase, it won't kill my slann and he shouldn't be taking any cc hits. if he does then... ja, that shouldn't happen.

Possible list B:

Slann
BSB Frenzy banner
Becalming, forbidden rod

Skink priest
Dispell

35 Saurus
Full command

3x 10 Skink skirmishers
Jav + shield

6 Chameleon skinks
stalker

Steg
Sharpened horns

24 Temple Guard
Full command
AP standard

Ancient steg eotg
sharpened horns

Ancient steg eotg
sharpened horns

That's it for now folks.

CC's welcome

I'm assuming 2500 points?

I like your second list, it looks a lot like a list that I've been running recently (I've been using 2 Scar Vets and an Old Blood instead of the Baby Steg and second Ancient Steg). It works pretty well for me.

I will say that the Stalker in the Chameleons isn't really worth it.

With that many Stegadons, I like running Life to keep them alive (also TG with 5+ or 4+ regen is pretty nice)

List A is solid. It doesn't have any major weaknesses and has the ability to deal with most threats.
List B will run into trouble with cannons, and will struggle with dealing with a high armor save unit getting into the Saurus. It's still very competitive, but imo, list A is slightly better.

Salamanders are incredibly good vs Infantry, particularly infantry that would ordinarily murder your units in combat, such as Executioners, witches, WL, etc.
