8th Ed. look out dir on a carnosaur

as subject really just wondering if theres anything you can keep next to a carnosaur to get a look out sir roll, maybe a unit of kroxigors or worst case scenario a stegadon, i dont want my steg to eat a cannonball but if its him or the carnosaur with general the steg is taking it. Another thing is the steg is a monstrous mount if im correct(dont have rulebook) so could you not have a skink chief on a Terradon to get look out sire, is terradon monstrous mount too??

i could be wrong but i think it has to be next to a unit with ranks in it. also carnosaurs and characters on monstrous mounts dont receive a look out sir unless the unit is of the same size as the character

A character has to be the same unit typa as a unit within 3" consisting of at least 5 rank and file models. This is impossible as you cant use monsters in units etc.

Go for chameleon skinks to negate that cannon fast!
