8th Ed. Lizardmen to Survive?

Im still clinging to the hope that "Lizardmen" will not get more army books,
But that "Saurians" will.

I simply refuse to believe that Kroq-Gar becomes a shinning saurus, gets the title "The shimmering"
and then disappears from the surface of warhammer.

Also, if our Lizards were gone for good, I think GW would have given the big miniatures in our selection
stronger rules during the endtimes, so that they would get bought up.

also^2 : I think that Gor-rok didnt get a mention for a reason (see argument above regarding new models)

If "lizardmen is getting re-vamped" + "no slann" I think that = Saurus will be the new leaders.

Kroq-Gar = The Military-maneuver / tactics type

Gor-rok = The Military-slaughter / brute-force type

both reflects the saurus, but in different ways.

With Tetto getting an absolutely gorgeous model, skinks will of course be the new priests.

I am quite confident that it will go along these lines.

I agree with you very much the Lizardmen will return, just probably not the Lizardmen that escaped the End Times. For one, the Slann are gone and I believe that's permanent due to how it occurred in Thanquol. To have an epic build up that leads to a one-sentence paragraph boldly stating, "For the Slann, it was time to return to the stars." Seems an extremely pointed statement saying the toads are gone forever.

However, all of the Skink and Saurus special characters not only kicked a lot of ass, but actually survived the End Times. I imagine we'll see the Skink priests taking over the religious and cultural pieces of our race while the Saurus take over the warmongering and such. It is quite likely that our race will evolve away from being scaly-automatons, which is so awesome cause it means we may finally get some love from Black Library. (which currently can't write about the damn lizards because they have no emotions, no drive, and no interests other than following Slann orders...not a great make-up for an interesting protagonist)

The Lizardmen WILL return, thanks to Kroak saving them and bubbling them like we've heard all the rest of the races shall be bubbled. I'm calling it now, the Saurians and Skinks shall return.

So what exactly happened to Gor-Rok in the ET? I haven't heard anything about him. Also, what about Tetto? Did he survive?

Tetto'eko survived and led the survivors of Tlaxlan to safety after it fell. Unclear where he ended up after that though he was never written as dead. It is likely he was in one of the cities, but he was definitely in one of the bubbles Kroak made.

Gor-rok, weirdly, never shows up in the End Times. Every army has roughly one or two special characters that haven't made it into the End Times writing, and Gor-rok appears to have been ours that didn't make it. He may be mentioned later, unlikely, but possibly. He probably won't appear though, which is REALLY strange considering he has such a lovely new model. Look out for him in Part 5.

Maybe Gor-rok will be the one to get some updated rules?

I really hope we get some mention to indicate what our army will become. I can imagine us becoming a more savage, animalistic faction, but if that happens I'd worry about our army getting merged with beastmen or orcs, which are both terrible ideas.

Lizardmen won't get squatted in any sense of the word. It simply doesnt make sense.

There are a half a dozen warhammer armies that are less popular, sell less, and are harder to "copyright" before lizardmen.

It's pure, pointless speculation. Rumors for 8th edition fantasy were hilariously wrong. Same with 6th edition 40k, 7th edition 40k, 7th edition fantasy, etc etc etc etc etc.

I expect the 9th rumors to be the same. Hilariously wrong.

DuffyBear was making it sound like we might be replaced with some sort of draconic race.

I hope this is true, because I find the prospet of GW potentially getting in legal trouble with Wizards of the coast, Reaper minis and Avatars of war most amusing.

I havnt been able to finde the "draconic race" talk, going through his comments.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's quite possible that it is all my own fever dream. Although it looks like a bunch of his posts might have been deleted.
